Scott Penlington Foundation

What is the Scott Penlington Foundation?

The Foundation was created in memory of Scott Penlington, who died tragically at the age of 25 in a light aircraft accident. Scott was the longest serving Hurricanes player, playing from the age of 11 years to 24 years of age. Following Scott's passing, the Hurricanes set up the Scott Penlington Foundation, with the objective raising money to provide each Hurricanes team with a defibrillator in Scott's memory. Since 2017, the Scott Penlington Foundation has raised over £40,000, and achieved the objective of providing each team with a defibrillator. We continue to fundraise in Scott's memory not only to maintain and replace these defibrillators but we are also placing new ones in-situ in the local community

The annual Scott Penlington Memorial Tournament is the major fundraiser for the Scott Penlington Foundation. It's a fantastic, family day out and usually takes place at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre in June each year. If you have a 7-aside team you'd like to enter (over 18s only) please contact Simon Lincoln on simon.lincoln1972@gmail.com.
