Saturday Soccer School

The best way to start the weekend! We regularly get 100 children attending Saturday Soccer School on the 3G pitch at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre. Our fully qualified FA coaches are experts at making football fun for all whilst teaching them all the skills they need to go on and play competitively at U8s if they choose to.

So, for potential new members – please click here to complete our on-line form and we will then let you know as soon as a place opens up for your child. Please bear with us as we still have quite a few on the list but we will get to everyone as soon as we can.

The Saturday Soccer School normally runs during School term times but for specific dates and further information please checkout our Facebook page.

For any queries please contact our Soccer School Director, Ian Wilkes at hchsoccerschool@btinternet.com

Venue: Sports Hall and 3G pitch at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre, Selkirk Drive, CW4 7DZ

At Soccer School we now cater for younger players from age 3 to age 11 in three separate classes:

  • Boys & Girls Pre-School (aged 3 – 4)

  • Boys & Girls Reception to Year 2 (aged 4 – 7)

  • Girls Only in Years 3 to 5 (aged 7 – 10 years)

The middle class is split into the 3 different school years with at least one (often 2) FA qualified coaches with lots of experience in coaching players in the various age groups. Our sessions are aimed at improving and developing our players’ fundamental physical skills (agility, balance and coordination) as well as their football specific skills including ball control, dribbling, shooting, movement, spatial awareness and communication in a fun and friendly competitive manner ahead of them joining one of our teams when they are older.

The Soccer School is open to boys and girls of any ability and experience.

Parents are encouraged to stay to watch their children during the session although children can be left if parents have something else to do. We welcome discussions with any parents who may be interested in getting involved with the coaching (subject to DBS clearance, which can be arranged via HCH’s Club Welfare Officer) and potentially helping in the management of a team in the future when their child is old enough.

All of our coaches hold enhanced DBS/CRB clearance and are Emergency Aid and Safe Guarding Children certified in addition to their FA coaching qualifications. Our Soccer School Director holds FA Level 2, Goalkeeping Level 1 and FA Youth Module 1 coaching awards.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

During the School Holidays, our team of coaches also run our Holiday Soccer School at the Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre. Usually, these run from 9.00am – 3.30pm with skills development in the morning session and competitions, games and matches in the afternoon.

The Holiday Soccer School is open to players from Reception (from age 5) to Year 6 and our Holmes Chapel Hurricanes members (teams and Soccer School) enjoy a discounted price.

For prices, information and details of how to book please view our Holiday Soccer School page.
