What kind of tools do you need for a resin bound surface project?
I'm seriously thinking about putting in a resin bound patio this spring, mainly to avoid dealing with loose gravel all the time. I'm a fairly keen DIYer and want to do it myself to save on costs. However, I'm not entirely sure what specialized tools I'd need for the job. Beyond the obvious like buckets and trowels, are there any particular mixers, rollers, or other pieces of equipment that are essential for achieving a good finish? I want to make sure I'm fully prepared before I start buying materials.

Getting the right tools makes a huge difference when you're tackling a Resin Driveway or patio. For mixing the resin and aggregate, a forced action mixer is pretty much essential; it ensures everything is consistently combined. You can get smaller versions that are perfect for DIYers. You'll also definitely need a good float or screed bar to spread the material evenly, and a roller to compact it and achieve that smooth, level finish. Don't forget protection for yourself either – gloves, eye protection, and old clothes are a must. Some websites even sell specific resin bound mixing drill attachments if you want to try mixing with a heavy-duty drill, but a proper mixer is ideal.
